Hello and Welcome to my Great Adventure. I have big educational goals in mind as I have decided to take online classes at Christian Leaders Institute. My hope is to receive a Diploma in Christian Ministry, along with a Certificate in Women’s Ministry.
I also have plans to finally finish all the online courses on discipleship and biblical counseling that I enrolled in through Logos MobileEd. So, I will be critiquing those courses along with other Professional Development / Continuing Education that I will be pursuing in the near future. In particular, I hope to be trained as a Life Coach and in Digital Marketing.
So if you have any interest in Christian online education and would like to know more about good educational programs, sign up to follow my blog and journey with me. I promise you will have a good time!
Blessings! I have another exciting opportunity for you all, which I hope everyone interested will take advantage of. I received a Full Tuition Scholarship ($2,400 value) to become a Certified Mental Health Coach and I want to pass along the information to you, so you can receive the same scholarship. If you have an interest in Biblical or Christian Counseling with your church, this free training program is a perfect match for you. It is 40 hours of learning through Light University, which is associated with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). It consists of three online courses that are available to you to work on 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Although they are considered Continuing Education (CEU), if you want to get college credit, you can transfer the coursework for an accredited degree at Houston Christian University or Liberty University, etc. There are also other Christian colleges where you may receive college-level credit as life learning assessment as well for a degree. The training program is excellent, as the coursework is taught by top-notch Christians in the mental health field. At the end of the program, you will receive a Certificate as a Mental Health Coach, which enables you to be recognized as a type of Life Coach / Christian Counselor with a specialization in helping people with serious mental illness. Also, for disclosure, although it is a full tuition scholarship ($2,400 value), there is a small administrative fee ($54) for those to enroll. You have access to complete the program for 365 days and all the reading materials / lecture videos are embedded within each of the three classes. So, there is no additional fees for books, etc. Over 26,000 people have received the scholarship so far with the organization’s goal of educating 32,000 people as mental health coaches with their churches. Blessings! In this post, I want to update you all in my learning adventure at Christian Leaders Institute (https://www.christianleadersinstitute.org). So far, I am doing really well with my studies. To be honest, I was really nervous about taking my first exam. I have not taken a college-level class in over 20 years. And even though, I have worked in higher education before, it is different being on the administrative side rather than the student side. I really want to do well with my coursework. But, returning to school can be a bit intimidating as an older adult. Mainly, due to dormant study skills. However, I have taken a few quizzes so far and finished my introductory course on Christian ministry (one credit) with a solid ‘A’ letter grade. So, I was really happy about that.
I really like how the classes I have taken so far are set-up at Christian Leaders Institute. They are fully online and on-demand, asynchronous learning. This means you can access the classes any time you want and take exams anytime you want. You are not tied down to a particular set time or day. Also, you are given six months to finish each course, although the expectation is that you make regular progress in your course. This means that they would like you to finish a unit of classwork every ten days (although you can finish your classwork faster, if you like). Also, all the classes are free at the Institute and you do not need to worry about paying for books, as all the reading materials are embedded into the online class. It is also nice that once you finish an online class, you will always have (forever) access to the reading assignments and videos. So, if you want to review materials further down you can in the future.
Now, I do want to share, that if you want to earn a college degree you can, through applying for admissions and credit through Christian Leaders College (https://www.christianleaderscollege.org). The online classes are the same as those offered through the Institute. However, there are some administrative costs involved with getting a college degree. They do NOT charge tuition for any classes. However, it costs $1,500 to earn an Associates degree and $1,500 to earn a Bachelors degree. These costs cover administrative costs for the College as they are seeking to become fully accredited by the U.S. government. (Note, they do have scholarships available for those who qualify and need them). However, for myself, because I already have a bachelors degree elsewhere, I have decided – at least for this moment – to just pursue the free online classes at the Institute and not another bachelors degree. So, this means, just studying towards a free Diploma and Certificates. (Note, I can always change my mind and get advanced standing by transferring in college credits from my other degree later).
Finally, I just want to add. For people who follow my prophecy blog, they will likely know that I am Catholic. Well, I want people to know that Christian Leaders Institute/College is both traditional and interdenominational. This means that you can still study at the Institute/College and you do not have to give up your denomination, whether you are Catholic, Baptist, Orthodox, Lutheran, etc. They cater to all Christian denominations while teaching a very traditional, conservative Christian curriculum. In fact, they have several thousands of Catholics studying at the Institute/College and the curriculum does not conflict with anyone’s faith. In fact, so far, it has been interesting finding out about the differences between the denominations through my studies. I am learning many things in a positive way.
Oh, and for those curious, the Institute/College offers over 150 online classes and students from over 190 nations attend classes. Moreover, they have conferred over 63,000 degrees since 2006 (I believe). However, you do not need to get a degree to attend. You can take classes at your leisure for fun and further life-long learning. God bless!
Blessings! I am really excited to share with you all that I have been accepted as an affiliate marketer for FaithLife, which develops and publishes the BEST Bible Software in the market, called, Logos (or Verbum for Catholics).
As an affiliate, I can offer you, my devoted readers, discounts that are unavailable to the general public. Here are the links so you can get 15-30% off along with free eBooks. The discount links will be different for each user, depending on whether you are a new customer or not.
I have been using Logos software since 2006 and I have invested a lot of effort and money to build up my personal Christian library. But, I tell you, it is worth the cost to help me dig deeper into God’s Word. I admit that I am not that knowledgeable about the Holy Bible. So, I feel Logos software is priceless as it helps me come closer to God and knowing His Paternal Heart. Also, I have started taking online Christian classes at Christian Leaders Institute and Logos software will be essential for my biblical studies and further understanding. I am also eager to critique the several Logos Mobile Ed courses that I purchased but have not completed yet. These are courses on discipleship, Gospel-centered counseling, spiritual formation, and life coaching, etc.
Now, what can you do with the Logos or Verbum Bible Study software? Well, people who purchase the more advanced packages can study Sacred Scripture in the original languages of Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. But, if you are like me, I just find it fascinating to study the different English translations, as well as the different interpretations among Biblical scholars for various Sacred Scripture verses. I also like learning the historical contexts for events and people in the Holy Bible and I like having access to historical maps, images, etc. The best part about having Bible study software is being able to trace verses and words between many different resources and eBooks. It makes Sacred Scripture become alive and interactive. I also like having many devotional eBooks in one place, as I love to do regular spiritual reading to improve myself.
I hope that this review has been helpful to you all. God bless.
